🔥 Who's Recruiting at the Holiday Season Career Fair
MOED's official event listing names a long and mixed employer list, and that mix is the real selling point. This is not a single-industry fair. The city says the tables cover retail, hospitality, manufacturing, transportation, logistics, professional services and apprenticeships.
A few clusters stand out:
- Retail, food and attractions: Royal Farms, Clyde's Restaurant Group, Emma's Tea Spot and the Maryland Zoological Society, which runs the Maryland Zoo up in Druid Hill Park.
- Health care: LifeBridge Health, Kennedy Krieger Institute, American Medical Response, HomeCentris and Carenexus.
- Public sector: the Baltimore Police Department, the State Highway Administration, the Maryland Army National Guard and several City of Baltimore departments, including Human Resources and General Services.
- Driving and logistics: Coach USA, Centerline Drivers, Elocin Global Logistics, the Independent Taxi Association and Rukert Terminals, the Port of Baltimore marine terminal operator.
- Trades and training: Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 1, Baltimore City Community College and MOED's own YouthWorks team.
Staffing firms and nonprofits round it out, including Quinn Staffing Group, Catholic Charities of Baltimore and the Y in Central Maryland.
⚠️ Read This Before You Go
MOED is clear on three points. You must be 18 or older. You need to register by Thursday, October 22. And not every employer at the fair will be interviewing on site, so some tables will be collecting resumes and pointing you to an online application rather than making offers that day.
No specific headcount or pay ranges have been published for this event. Treat it as a chance to get in front of several dozen hiring managers in one morning, not a guaranteed job offer.
📋 How to Show Up Ready
The city's advice is short: bring several copies of an updated resume, dress professionally and come prepared to interview. A few extras help at a fair this size:
- Pick five or six target employers from the list above before you arrive and visit those tables first.
- Have a 30-second pitch ready that names the kind of shift you want, such as weekend retail, overnight warehouse or a full-time city role.
- Bring a pen, a photo ID and your references written out with phone numbers.
The fitness center sits off Reedbird Avenue in Cherry Hill, near the Middle Branch waterfront in South Baltimore. Give yourself extra time if you're coming across town at midmorning.
🔎 Where to Aim This Holiday Season
Many of these employers post openings year round, so you can start applying now and use the fair to follow up in person. A name a recruiter recognizes from your application is a better start than a cold handshake.
